Social Media Development for Fuel Church

As graphic designer and art director for Fuel Church, I led the development of a wide range of creative assets that supported both weekly services and major events. The role extended beyond individual graphics, focusing on shaping a cohesive visual identity that could carry the brand consistently across digital platforms, in-person experiences, and community outreach.

In 2015, I led a full rebrand designed to modernize the church’s visual presence and better reflect its growing and highly engaged community. The rebrand included the development of a new logo, a refreshed visual identity system, a brand video, a redesigned website, and a strategic framework for social media content.

The Challenge

Fuel Church needed a visual language that could keep pace with a fast-moving and digitally connected congregation. Social content needed to feel visually progressive while remaining authentic to the church’s mission of building community and creating meaningful engagement beyond Sunday services.

The brand also required a cohesive system that could support a high volume of weekly communications, event promotions, and seasonal campaigns without losing visual consistency.

The Approach

The strategy focused on expanding the brand beyond a single logo into a fully realized visual ecosystem. A robust color palette, bold typography, and striking imagery were introduced to create a recognizable and flexible design language that could scale across multiple touchpoints.

Rather than treating graphics as one-off pieces, the work established a curated creative direction that guided the visual output of the entire organization. Weekly service graphics, sermon series visuals, event promotions, and social content were all designed to feel connected while still allowing room for creative variation.

Social media played a central role in the strategy. A visual-first approach helped Fuel Church maintain an engaging and contemporary presence across platforms, allowing the organization to connect with its audience consistently throughout the week.

The Result

The rebrand provided Fuel Church with a cohesive and modern visual identity that strengthened its digital presence and elevated the overall quality of its communications. The new brand system allowed the church to produce a high volume of creative content while maintaining a clear and recognizable visual voice.
